Hello friends of adventure and merriment!

Trying to get back into some work I have to take care of, but I wanted to update because I don't update much at all. I think I last update back in, like, Octoberz?
So how's the holiday shit going for people? I love this time of year, but I know a lot of people just have extreme taste for the false smiles and the elbows to the face while shopping.

Anyone been reading Tales of the Fallen? Thoughts? Thoughts? I didn't do the colors for #3, but I'm in all the other 5 books. I'm excited for Ravage and Arcee to come out- especially Arcee(Tales of the Fallen numbuh 6); I think Mowry and Alex really cranked out the awesome on it(Arcee). I've been in a color-funk for some time, so I don't feel my best work was on that book- but I still love how it turned out :D. I hope you peeps will too!

Who here is going/planning to attend TFcon or Botcon next year? I'm anxious to hear when/where Botcon will be so I can plan for it, but I'm going to TRY and attend TFcon too.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO A QUIGGIDY-QUAGMIRE:
I need some ideas on what to make for prints. I'm going to do postcard-sized prints, standard letter sized prints, and A3(11"x17"?) sized prints and I need some suggestions. If you have any ideas, or a favorite character, or just a favorite continuity, I'd like to hear so I can gather what's "popular" or what's "so obscure, it just might work!".
Diz-Clay-More times!!!:
I appreciate any suggestions, but I intend to make these prints fan-universal: things that the guys and gals of the Transformers Fandom might equally want to buy; so, sorry, that means no: out-of-canon(cartoon/comic/toy) pairings, things that could be considered creepy in a FETISH-type manner, or non-canon(Hasbro-acknowledged) original characters.

If you care to suggest, I'd love to know whether you plan on attending TFcon, Botcon, or both(just to see if there are any "geographically-based Transformers preferences"- that sounds stupid, I know).
This isn't a contest or nothing- it's not a "if I use your idea, you get something!", it's just sort of a "what would you buy a print of?" question. If I see certain answers/characters repeating, then I'll know what to focus on. I'm also going to try and have a bunch of sketchcards for sale, so I'll try to use as many(if not all) characters mentioned.

Thanks to those who suggest, and totally cool if you read this and you're all "PFFT! Whatevs man, yooz a Sonichu, mang", then that works too. No gun to anyone's head. This is my first time wanting to get prints up for sale and I want to make sure I get as much input on this before I put pencil to paper.

TL;DR: blah blah blah suggest Transformers-based ideas for prints blah blah blah nothing that'd make people puke blah blah blah yooz a sonichu blah blah.</i>

Totally late for the party but I'd say if you ant popular and something that will sell, I say The Autobot and Decepticon 'chain of comand' tends to be very popular.

Anything with Starscream, Soundwave (Or alternatively Shockwave, though Soundwave tends to be a little more profitable) and Megatron should sell well in the Decepticon front. Optimus Prime is always a seller, so I don't think I need to mention him. On the other hand you can always have characters such as Hot Rod/Rodimus and Ultra Magnus (TFA Magnus is very popular) or alternatively Prowl, Jazz or Ironhide. Though I think Jazz is the most profitable.

Ratchet, the twins and Wheeljack are also popular characters.

The TFA Seekers and Jet twins are also very popular, specially with the female fans, but I cannot tell how much the twins are with the male population. For something more obscure I'd suggest Sentinel Prime from Megatron Origins, He's a known character but there's very little work of him to be found. Dinobot and BW Inferno are also seemingly general fan favorites. There's also Chromia, Firestar, Moonracer and Elita that do have very little work of profesional quality, but I do not know how good sellers they could be. (Personally I'd definitelly get stuff from Chromia).

As for going to the cons, living in Mexico means a big expenditure to go to any TF con. I intend to make it to Botcon, but if it cannot make it, I have a couple of friends that are going and intend on passing them a sum to get me as much Prowl or Jazz stuff as possible. So,if you happen to have anything of either of them to sell, my friends are likely going to pick it for me.

Uhm well, what does make people puke? Megatron x Starscream? xD
Actually I think people would buy that just because you can't buy it anywhere else. I guess there are a lot of fangirls out there who totally adore it. (And I guess that Hasbro would totally not like it. xD)

For more serious reasons:
The Seekers are pretty popular among the fans, Soundwave too. Maybe you could also draw some not so well-known characters like G1-Sunstorm or Megatron from Megatron Origin? There's not much merchandise about those.
A G1 picture with Starscream and Sunstorm would be awesome, I'd definitely buy that.

I think I have a neat idea for Sunstorm- and I have a little "joke" image now for Megatron Origins, thanks :D!!
I didn't even stop to think about Sunstorm...

Make prints of the more obscure or not as well known TFs and hide their names within the art. :D

As for BotCon, if it's outside Southern California, very little chance of me showing up. TFCon, I'm not gonna even think about it (short of winning a 9-digit lotto). :3

I hope it's nearby for you then! I don't think I'll be attending SDCC since it's pretty pricey, and I love running into you because you're a total broseph :D!

I sadly haven't been able to keep up with the comics either. I did find a comic shop near me, but haven't had my car for awhile now (Mum's borrowing it), and haven't been paid either :o

As for print suggestions, I suggest Bumblebee (as if there was a doubt you'd make a Bumblebee print hurhur) and Soundwave (he seems popular). I don't suggest them on the same print mind you, that'd be weird. o_O

WIthout these, I'd never be able to keep track of all the TF comics, I'm still too new! :(
But a friend has me excited for Fallen 6.

I like Soundwave and Shockwave on stuff. Especially paper-y goodness. :D
And BW Depthcharge was cool! Argh, there's too much I think is neat, it all swirls around in my brain!!

You forgot Shockwave?! :p
Poor Shockwave will be sad...

Depthcharge looks so cool, I'm sure he'd do great.

Hope it goes well, glad I could help. :)

you should totally do a print with all the mini bots on it. bumblebee at the front and then all the rest. i'm sure you could do a better one then the pat lee cover with them on.
you could do a zombie tf picture of the popular characters? i don't know. do what you want to do and what you feel will make you happy to have a print of. thats all that matters in the end.

The man speak the truth, ya know what will sell but you want to enjoy what you're doing. Doesn't hurt to break the mold anyways and do some obscure stuff few have done before ;)

I still plan to do a Zombie cover of the Transformers issue with Ratchet, Megatron, and Buster on the cover XD! I Wonder if I would still be able to sell it at Botcon if I had the "TF Zombies" logo I made on it?

ummm, i'd probably stay away from anything that had the logo on it. just in case hasbro says anything. hmmm tf zombies you say. that might work after all, but you never know.
oh, interesting idea. stickers or cutouts of a tf zombie logo??? i know i'd buy one.

I wanted to put the TF Zombie logo I made onto the image if I did it- but that's exactly what I was worried about(the logo); what about faction symbols? Do you know anything about the "yay or nay" on that? :)

I'm thinking I print up the TF Zombie logo as stickers, and they come free with purchase of the TF Zombie poster? XD But then I'd have to see what the price for that is... hmmm...

faction symbols are hit or miss. i have them on my work, but i never know if there going to say anything. but there not logo's so it doesn't look like a hasbro endorsed product. it's tricky and you have to be very careful. the one thing that is better for us is that we actually work on the titles and for hasbro.

True; being in the published TF media kinda gives us an edge- I'll see what Pete has to say about this kinda stuff :)

Thanks for the input, Alex!

I haven't been able to really keep track of TotF as much as I would like since the two comic shops around here have become pretty inconsistant with getting any transformer series but I have read the first two, really enjoyed the Sideswipe story arc =3

;) There's multiple suggestions I can give (I wonder if they'll piss off Alex :P). Two things I'd definitely suggest would be 1) Popular characters: Optimus, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, and Soundtape always sell. 2) Wait till we announce our voice actor guests and make prints of the characters they voiced.

I definitely have ideas for the characters mentions, fortunately! As for waiting on the who the voice actor guests will be, I definitely intend to do that. :)
I just need ideas to sell at both- I will be doing a few separate pieces that I hope to make specific for each convention(assuming no wrench is thrown in my plans and I go to both).
