TF Alliance 03 page 02by *dyemooch

Saw the preview up here:[link] so I figured I'd post up the five pages shown.
Transformers Alliance is a sort of sequel that's also interwoven into the first Transformers movie from last year and the Reign of Starscream comic; it's also a prequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It's brilliantly written by Chris Mowry, who does a FANTASTIC job at working with the movie universe. This guy's brilliant. Alex does an amazing job with the art- and some hobo with Photoshop colored it.

GAWD, I love how the textures on Bumblebee came out. about90% of the textures on him were from brushes I made, so, yeah, EGO EGO EGO. I can't look at the Opera House in Sydney without thinking of Finding Nemo...

Things that Must Be Said:
a small moment of awe at the "arrival" panels, evokes the same happy weepy feeling i got from the arrival scene in the movie
(and yes, i had to immediately shut my brain up for not only yelling NEMO! at the panel of sydney opera house, but for yelling MULAN! at the Wall of China panel as i saw it recently

last two panels shook me
how so much emotion can be given off simply from body language and eyes... beautiful
(and while the artist/inker certainly deserves applause for even pulling off this awesome feat, it wouldn't have been at all the same if someone else had done it, even if they did more than "add dirt". so be proud man! this lowly fan applauds you!

You're way too kind!

Mowry's script was translated rather well by Alex; I did what I could to further expand what Mowry was trying to put across. I love doing arrival scenes; I use what the artist draws, but I embellish on it in my own way(I love when I can dictate special effects- like adding in the protoforms XD).

Oh, Mulan! I forgot about that. You realize that now I'll think of Mulan AND Nemo when I look at this page, right? haha XD

i don't know what's up with you colorists, it's like you've got some brand of magic hiding away somewhere up you're sleeves and just smatter it on inks when nobody's looking and voila! a masterpiece fit to give the common people seizures from overdose of epic awesome
and mind you, that's only just you colorists
i'm sure the artists who have to draw the darn thing have their own surprises as well (they're secretly cyborgs who have perfection of robots and insanity of humans, this is the only way.

how else can you people manage such insane smooth transitions in colors and other such mind boggling witchcraft? (maybe it's because i'm a simple painter with barely any Photoshop knowledge under my proverbial belt, but i surely hope to someday be able to attain such knowledge and maybe even do work at least as wonderful as yours and so many other beautiful artists)

well even if they weren't there in the first place they were marvelously done
(it's friggin fire, everyone loves fire! i really liked the painty look you pulled on the protoforms too! )

lol, oopsie, my bad? meh, i *was* thinking Tarzan-ish for the forest/jungle panel, but i wasn't quite sure where the place was supposed to be
